Our integrated lectures and discussions take you from the earliest origins of the monastic tradition to the dissolution of Lindores Abbey in the upheaval of the Protestant Reformation in Sixteenth-Century Scotland. Our "from the beginning" approach ensures that all students have the background needed to make the most of our excavations at Lindores Abbey -- a community founded by a group of monks from Tiron Abbey in France in the twelfth century.
