Heritage Management
Landscape is defined by the interactions between people and places over time. These change with human and environmental involvement. Many of our landscapes and places become linked to community identity, national heritage, and are culturally significant.
UNESCO defines heritage as: “Our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Our cultural and natural heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration.”

Thinking together about heritage
What is heritage? And who is it for? How can we create sustainable heritage? These are some of the questions that we address in our lectures and discussions on heritage and heritage management.
Tours and open days
All of our students receive training in effective tour leadership, with the opportunity to lead visitors through the site throughout the dig. Our 2025 Open Day attracted more that 100 visitors to the site. Highlights were our student-led trench talks and our kids dig and post-ex corner.
